WINDOW WASHING INSTRUCTIONS

TO KEEP PRISMS IN PRISTINE CONDITION

1.  The best way to keep the prisms in original condition is DO NOT WASH ANY WINDOW SURFACE WITH A PRISM STRIP ON IT. 

2.  That refers only to the inside of the glass. Outside can be washed as usual.

3.  If washing is imminent, it would be best to mark those reachable windows with prisms on them with a 3” sticky note, TO PHYSICALLY ALERT THE  WASHERS TO STAY AWAY..

4 Absolutely do not wash any high windows, or skylights that have prisms on them!  They will probably never need washing. And those prisms can be easily damaged by a window washer.

5. If there are terrible dirt spots on any lower windows with prisms, they should keep any washing at least 12” away from the prisms.

If any actual prisms ever get visible dirt smears on them, I will be happy to come to your library and carefully clean them to keep them in original condition.

With the refinement of our new individually hanging, plexiglas prisms, window washing will largely become a question of the past.  Our future plexiglas prisms, suspended with stainless steel fishing wire, are of equal optical quality, are more easily installed, and can easily be removed and replaced for window washing.
